How Much Can I Earn?

Some ways to research what you
might make upon graduation:

According to www.salaries.com an HVAC Mechanic Level I in the 92805 Zip Code earn from $31,962 to $58,353 per year. These figures are “Base Salaries”, meaning that they don’t represent benefits (Health Insurance, Pension, Paid Vacation, etc.). Give it a try yourself, see what the wages are for your area. I interpret the $31,962 figure to be more or less entry level wages (first day to perhaps 6 months of experience?) and the $58,353 wage to represent top tier wages for highly trained people with 2 years of experience. An interesting wage is the middle range of $37,341 to $51,155, since this is where the majority of workers fit from 0 to 2 years of experience.

Now look at HVAC Mechanic Level II, which covers people with experience from 2 to 5 years in the field. Here the wages start at $41,727 and end up at $69,345 per year. Again, the interesting numbers are in the middle which range from $47,238 to $61,694 per year.

The last category is for HVAC Mechanic Level III, which is for people with 5 years or more experience. We find that the range in salary goes from $46,547 to $74,577 per year. The middle range, again - where most people are, has $51,881 to $66,554 per year.

Go to the www.salaries.com website and put in “HVAC” then your Zip Code, see what kind of salaries you can expect!
